Jenny, President and Founder
Jenny has many years of experience working in animal rescue and conducting animal cruelty investigations. She lives at the sanctuary, providing full-time care and enrichment to all of the residents. Jenny is deeply involved in community outreach to help educate the public about the plight of roosters, and she routinely organizes rescue operations for abandoned and injured animals. Jenny selflessly spends all of her time and resources doing everything in her power to create a better world for the animals. Rooster Haus Rescue would not exist without her hard work and dedication.

Charles, Treasurer
Charles has been volunteering or working in animal rescue since 2004 but didn’t intersect with the rooster world until 2022. He was invited to a work party and fell in love with the animals and the organization. Charles joined the board in September 2022 as Secretary to utilize his long-time non-profit experience and business management education to aid the organization. In January 2024, Charles accepted the new position as board Treasurer.
Steisha, Secretary
Steisha has been loving, speaking to, and caring for animals in need and in nature since childhood. When she moved to Seattle in 2017, she found passionate activism and volunteer groups that deepened her connection with animals and her drive to help them. Steisha joined a Rooster Haus Rescue work party in January 2022 and has been in love with chickens ever since. She joined the Board two years later, bringing experience in project management, strategic planning, committee management, budgeting, and fundraising.

Eryn
Inspired by living for 10 years with a beloved rescued house rooster who had been dumped after a hatching project, Eryn discovered Rooster Haus Rescue in 2019. As a STEM teacher for over 15 years, she understands the importance of education, outreach, and fundraising in creating positive change in the world. Eryn and her spouse run a microsanctuary for indoor chickens, specifically focusing on bantams and their unique care needs. As the happy adopter of a number of Rooster Haus alunmi, Eryn is excited to find new ways to further the mission of creating a future free of harm and full of love for roosters and all non-human people. She joined the board of directors in January 2022.
Jaime
Jaime has been working and volunteering with nonprofits for the last 20 years, with a focus on underserved communities and youth. She believes all animals bred by humans deserve safe and caring homes. Jaime first learned about Rooster Haus several years ago and was deeply moved by the mission and has enjoyed attending events at the sanctuary with her family and friends. She looks forward to providing ongoing support as a member of the board, helping Rooster Haus continue to work towards the mission of ending animal abuse and exploitation and educating others about the greatness of these creatures.

A 2017 PETA Teacher of the Year and fluent Spanish speaker, Maggy brings a deep commitment to inclusive, community-centered animal advocacy. As a Rooster Haus board member, she’s dedicated to expanding humane education and uplifting the voices of both animals and people.

She is a lifelong animal lover and advocate, with a passion for creating a world where all animals are treated with compassion and respect. Sierra has loved supporting Rooster Haus Rescue over the years and is excited to join the Board to play a larger role in furthering its mission of giving neglected and abused farm animals a safe, harm-free future and ending animal abuse and exploitation.
