Rehoming

We are unable to accommodate surrendered roosters at our sanctuary. If you’ve already reviewed our retention resources and found that you still need to rehome your rooster, you may consider arranging a private adoption or surrendering them to a shelter. Reach out to your local animal shelter or animal control service to learn about their policies around accepting surrendered roosters. Many government-funded entities are contractually obligated to accept all surrendered animals within their jurisdiction.

Please be aware that some shelters may not thoroughly screen adopters and may not even adopt roosters out to the public. Roosters may be sent to farm auction or euthanized. Other shelters work with reputable rescues to find placement for their roosters, and we work directly with several local shelters in this capacity.
